The Week Ahead: Key Economic Events to Watch (July 14–18, 2025)

As global markets enter mid-July, investors and traders are preparing for a week filled with crucial economic data, central bank updates, and inflation reports that could shift market momentum. From the U.S. inflation print to Eurozone CPI and U.S. consumer sentiment, each release this week offers important clues on the state of the global economy and future monetary policy directions.

Here’s your complete overview of what to expect this week — all times are shown in Dubai time (GMT+4).

Monday, July 14

The week begins with the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book, scheduled for release at 10:30 PM. This report offers anecdotal insights from the Fed’s 12 regional banks and gives a qualitative snapshot of business conditions, consumer trends, and employment dynamics across the U.S. economy. While the Beige Book doesn’t always trigger immediate market moves, it often sets the narrative for the next Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting — and sharp traders will be reading between the lines.

Tuesday, July 15

Inflation is front and center with the release of the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Core CPI for June at 4:30 PM. These are among the most significant data points of the month, offering a clear signal on whether inflationary pressures are easing or persisting. The Core CPI, which strips out volatile food and energy prices, is especially important for gauging underlying trends and influencing Fed policy.

In addition, several FOMC members are scheduled to speak throughout the day. Their commentary could reflect the latest inflation data and help shape market expectations around future interest rate decisions. Traders should be alert for any shift in tone or forward guidance.

Wednesday, July 16

Mid-week attention turns to the Producer Price Index (PPI) and Core PPI, also due at 4:30 PM. These figures measure inflation at the wholesale level — essentially what businesses are paying before goods reach consumers. Rising PPI can suggest future upward pressure on consumer prices, which in turn affects the outlook for monetary policy.

During the U.S. session, we also expect housing market data and consumer sentiment surveys. These provide insight into the strength of the U.S. economy from a domestic perspective — particularly valuable as analysts evaluate whether the U.S. consumer is holding strong or showing signs of fatigue.

Thursday, July 17

This will be a particularly data-heavy day. At 4:30 PM, the U.S. will release two high-impact indicators: Retail Sales and Industrial Production. Retail Sales reflects the health of consumer spending — a key driver of the U.S. economy — while Industrial Production gives a window into the output of factories, mines, and utilities.

At the same time, the Eurozone’s Final CPI for June will also be released. While the exact time varies, it typically falls within the 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Dubai time window. With inflation still a key concern in Europe, this data will be closely watched for signals on the European Central Bank’s future policy path.

Friday, July 18

We wrap up the week with the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index (Preliminary) at 6:00 PM. This report measures American households’ views on the economy, inflation, and personal finances. As a forward-looking indicator, it plays an important role in shaping investor sentiment and can affect market expectations for future economic performance.
